About The Roots of Rebellion:

The Roots is essentially an outgrowth of the now infamous Beer O’ Clock radio show. It aired from fall 2002 to summer 2005. During this time, it reached a large audience of over 900 interviews listened to every week.

To those who aren’t familiar with our past show, the point of The Beer O’ Clock was to expose a running thread. It connected distorted amps from grass-root music to the response that the Dalai Lama gave to the meaning of “feeling like a wounded animal in retreat.” The link was drawn by inviting many guests: Musicians, documentary film makers, authors, psychologists, Zen masters, and just plain shit disturbers.

The show ran its course and like all good things, they grow, and evolve. We’re therefore proud to announce that the Beer O’ Clock has evolved to being called: “The Roots of rebellion”. It features more talk and less rock as we continue to disect the meaning of honest rebellion. The burning hot question of the famed Psychoanalyst Robert Lindner who asks: "Why must you conform?" Whether it comes in the shape of a screaming youth, a practicing shrink, or through the eyes of a documentary film maker, to the humbling words of an aging Zen master, our focus is simply in making links and associations.

Basically, The Roots endeavor to explore the meaning of rebellion through science, art, music, philosophy, and psychology. It is a show celebrating life and its mysteries. We like to sometimes refer to it as Art Bell for our time and generation. If you had enough with the dream that aliens will save your life, and want to move on to what really matters in daily life, then this website is for you.
